The BevQ app is Kerala’s liquor sale virtual queue management app, which is now finally available for download on Android on the Google Play Store. The app has been waiting for the past few weeks, which was launched yesterday by the Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO). This app has been created by the Kochi based startup Faircode Technologies Private Limited. It is worth noting that within 24 hours of launch, this app has been downloaded more than 1 lakh times. This was revealed by the Google Play Store listing. However, many users have raised questions about the quality of this app on Twitter and Google Play Store, especially this question is about the OTP generation.

According to Google Play’s App Description, “BevQ is a virtual queue management application and a token service provided by Kerala State Beverages Corporation Ltd. Through the app, clients can take home their Queue number (line number) and tokens, which will reserve their place on the line in the liquor store. ”

The BevQ app supports both English and Malayalam languages. To use this app, the user has to provide his name, mobile number and PIN code. The user who puts his number through this app gets the first QR code with an e-token on his mobile phone. This token is scanned at the liquor store and the customer can then purchase the wine.
It is also reported that through the BevQ app, the customer can buy liquor only once in four days in the state. A customer who does not have an e-token will not be able to buy liquor. Apart from this, people who live in red zone areas will also not be able to put numbers for the purchase of liquor through this app. E-Token is sent via SMS.
