 Economic relief package worth Rs 1.70 lakh crore

The Modi government has made a big announcement on Thursday to give relief to the poor amidst the spreading corona virus across the country. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has announced one lakh 70 thousand crore rupees. Sitharaman said that an economic package has been prepared to deal with the effects of lockdown due to Corona epidemic. 1.70 lakh crore will be provided to the poor under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana.

Nirmala Sitharaman Live:

Daily wages under MNREGA increased from Rs 182 to Rs 202. This will benefit five crore families.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana, 8.69 crore farmers will be paid 2000-2000 rupees in advance in the first week of April.

Three crore poor old people, poor widows and poor persons with disabilities will be given an amount of Rs 1000-1000.

Beneficiaries of Ujjwala scheme will get free LPG cylinder for next 3 months, 8.3 crore poor families will be benefited.

Living-free interest for 63 lakh women self-help groups was doubled to 20 lakh rupees.

80 crore poor people who already get 5 kg rice / wheat per person, now they will get additional 5 kg rice / wheat free. Also 1kg of lentils will be given.

The Corona Commandos are fighting this battle, they will be given life insurance of 50 lakhs.

8.3 crore BPL families have been included in the Ujjwala scheme, so that there is no shortage for cooking, free cylinders will be provided for 3 months.

An additional Rs 1000 will be given for the elderly, widows and the disabled. The next 3 months will be given in two installments. Direct benefits will be transferred to people of this class. About 3 crore people will benefit from this initiative.

The 63 lakh self-help groups working in this country, the loan of 10 lakh rupees received under the National Livelihood Mission is being increased to 20 lakh rupees. So that they can do more work.

For organized sector workers and those who are job seekers or payers, and institutions where there are less than 100 employees and 90% of those who get less than 15000 salary. Of this, the government will give 12% of the EPF’s share of the jobber and 12% of the jobber.

There is a building and other construction workers welfare fund for construction workers. It has about 3.5 crore registered workers and funds of about 31,000 crore rupees are available in it, State Governments have been directed to use this fund for the welfare of workers.
